Paediatric First Aid

2 day

A full Ofsted/EYFS [Early Years Foundation Stage] recognised Paediatric First Aid course.

Once qualified, holders of this PFA certificate can be used as First Aiders in a childcare setting and can also be counted towards staff/child ratios.

This course is typically aimed at either solo workers or more senior members in a team-based environment. In addition to the EPFA syllabus, we include:

  • Minor Injuries
  • Burns
  • Asthma
  • Electric Shock
  • Febrile Seizures
  • Poisons
  • Temperature Related Events
  • Diabetes
  • Spinal Injuries
  • Meningitis/Sepsis

In addition, more time is spent embedding the core skills from the EPFA

EPFA
Emergency Paediatric First Aid

1 day

A full Ofsted/EYFS [Early Years Foundation Stage] recognised Emergency Paediatric First Aid course.

Once qualified, holders of this EPFA certificate can be used as First Aiders in a childcare setting, working alongside PFA qualified staff. They can also be counted towards staff/child ratios.

AR
Annual Refresher

1/2 day

The PFA/EPFA qualifications last for 3 years. It is obvious that over that time period, knowledge will need refreshing and updating particularly at this time with key changes resulting from the Covid Pandemic.

Ofsted/EYFS recommend that all qualified First Aiders receive annual refresher training to embed their previous learning

This is a short course and is aimed at refreshing core skills and providing any training updates.

We can also include bespoke subjects based on client needs such as Anaphylaxis

BLS
With Anaphylaxis

1/2 day

This course is designed to provide a basic level of First Aid knowledge in a shorter time period. Once qualified, holders will have competence in the key areas of basic First Aid.

This is an excellent alternative if the full Ofsted/EYFS recognised courses are not required.
